This is page 27 of my forty page contribution to the Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project which is now touring various galleries and museums of the US.
The picture is a re-drawing of an early sketch that I made some years ago but which recently provided the inspiration for my new Frankenstein’s Orifice Box sculpture.
The image is drawn in black biro and oddly the scanner has picked up a wave-like reflection where the denser areas of cross-hatching have warped the paper slightly.

Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project (Page 26)
This is page 26 of my forty page contribution to the Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project.
The image is a re-drawing of one of the sketches from my late night, quick-fire drawing sessions – which I’m glad to say that I’ve just got back into the habit of doing again. I’m quite fond of this sad looking chap. He reminds me of a John Merrick (the Elephant Man) kinda figure but I wasn’t consciously thinking of him when I started the picture. I was just making some quick marks on the paper and then went along with whatever started to appear.

Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project (Page 25)
This is page 25 of my forty page contribution to the Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project.
It is a re-drawing of an earlier design that I made when I was working on a sculpture (Mobile Citadel) for a follow-up show to the A Gothic Story exhibition. The original exhibition, in which I showed about eight pieces, took place in the basement of Shoreditch Town Hall in East London a few years ago. Unfortunately the sequel to this show which was supposed to be held at Tilbury Fort on the Thames Estuary didn’t find enough funding and had to be called off. I still have the unfinished sculpture sitting in my studio. Maybe I’ll get round to finishing it one day.
